Tasting NotesJeb Dunnuck:
The 2011 Vougeot le Clos du Prieuré has a more herbaceous bouquet compared to Vougeraie’s, though that partly comes from the fact that there are 60% whole cluster fruit in here. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, slightly rigid tannins at the moment, rendering this quite masculine and almost surly on the finish. I would like a little more flesh and generosity here, although I can imagine it flourishing on the dinner table. A little lean, but undeniably deftly crafted.
