The 2011 Red Wine is an impressive blend of 67% Grenache and 33% Syrah that spent 18 months in mostly used French oak 500-liter barrels. Showing classic, slightly cooler climate Grenache notes of mulberry, kirsch, licorice, cedar and herbs de Provence, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and texture that carries beautiful purity of fruit, good tannin and a clean, dry finish. Rock-solid, especially in the vintage, it’s an impressive Grenache that will drink nicely through 2019, if not longer. Note, the plan here is to gradually increase the Grenache component here as the vines mature.
