Tasting Notes

Robert Parker: 93 Points
Wine Advocate #213 Jun 2014 Jeb Dunnuck 93 Drink: 2014 - 2024 $50 (40) A Cabernet Franc dominated release, the 2011 Boss Block spent 25 months in 50% new and 50% one-year-old French oak barrels. Due to vintage conditions, Scott opted to use less toast on the barrels for this cuvee. Coming from tiny yields, it gives up a rich, medium to full-bodied and approachable style to go with notions of chocolaty dark fruits, spice, dried flowers and sweet oak. Supple and up-front, with a soft mid-palate, it nevertheless is beautifully balanced and will evolve gracefully for upward of a decade. Scott Greer continues to make full throttle, concentrated and textured efforts from his Sheridan Vineyard thatís located just outside the town of Zillah. While he opted to not produce his Singularity cuvee in either 2011 or 2012 (this is still a maybe), both vintages are strong, with his 2011s checking in near the top of the vintage. His 2012s should be a step up and have additional mid-palate depth and texture, as well as beautiful freshness. Nevertheless, both vintages are worth having in the cellar to say the least. In addition to some rock star reds, donít miss his Chardonnay!
