Tasting NotesRobert Parker: 91--93 Points
Tasted from barrel, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve reveals lavish aromas of black plums, incense and asphalt, followed by a full-bodied, layered and richly tannic palate, with an abundance of ripe, fine-grained tannins and a deep, concentrated core of fruit. This has all the elements to show very well indeed from bottle.
Antonio Galloni: 93 Points
"(50% new French oak) Opaque ruby. Smoke- and spice-accented dark fruit, rose pastille, vanilla and cola aromas, along with smoky oak and cola overtones. Palate-staining cherry, black currant and spicecake flavors are lifted and sharpened by a spine of juicy acidity. Gains flesh and weight with air and finishes appealingly sweet and very long, displaying persistent dark berry and spice notes and smooth, slow-mounting tannins." Vinous, Sep 2018
James Suckling: 93 Points
James Suckling-Paso Robles, CA - "I love the very dark and ripe cassis nose of this prototypical California cabernet. The stunning fruit carries the generous, moderately dry tannins beautifully. Long, surprisingly elegant finish for a wine of this scale."
