Tasting NotesWine Spectator: 94 Points
Bright and fresh, with ample cherry and strawberry flavors for sweetness on the palate. Rose, tea and iron accents enter the mix, concluding with firm grip. Elegant and intense. Best from 2018 through 2032. 500 cases made.
Antonio Galloni: 94 Points
The 2011 Barolo Cannubi stands out for its nuance and amplitude, both signatures that separate it from many of the other wines in this range. There is a real sense of pedigree here, but it is hard to describe with mere words, as is often the case with Grand Cru Burgundy. Beautifully resonant and expressive, the Cannubi is shaping up to be a real gem. Scavino rents a small parcel in the heart of Cannubi that may very well be one of the best sites in the family's range. A bottle of the inaugural 1985 was magic.
