Ripe, almost tropical fruit flavors get a kiss of oak in this enticing white, which is firm and exudes mineral on the finish, but it will take a few years for the terroir to manifest itself. Best from 2012 through 2022. 65 cases imported. –BS

The 2006 Chablis Vaudesir features ripe yellow plum allied to a pan dripping-like savory meatiness. Hints of lanolin, resin, and spice from the barrel nicely complement the wine’s roasted and almost honeyed richness. This is a great example of the amplitude and generosity that in 2006 is perfectly compatible with carnal characteristics and other mysterious aspects peculiar to Chablis. Finishing with elegance and subtlety yet a real sense of conviction, it should be worth following for up to a decade.

Tasting note: Here too the wood treatment is obvious but less overt with notably ripe and spicy orchard fruit aromas leading to intense, vibrant and sappy medium full flavors that are wrapped in a driving, indeed penetrating mineral and oyster shell infused finish that is deep, complex and long.
