The Sheridan 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon received upbringing similar to that of the corresponding Mystique, though 20% of the barriques here were new. Black currant and vanilla candies in the nose adumbrate also the confectionary sweetness – buttressed by chocolate and maple syrups – on a plush palate. There are herbaceous, green elements here, too, but these appear somewhat detached and obtrusive, no doubt precisely on account of the background of sweetness against which they are revealed. Tannin and bitter herbacity akin to walnut husk extends the otherwise sweet finish in a slightly palate-numbing direction.
