Tasting NotesWine Spectator: 92 Points
Wine Spectator 92 points - Aromatic, with abundant ground spice, citrus peel and fresh-chopped herb flavors, this vibrant, medium-bodied white shows a creamy palate of melon, peach skin, candied kumquat, lychee and guava, backed by racy acidity and a mineral element. Drink now through 2028. 30 cases imported. -AN (Oct 15 2015)
Robert Parker: 93 Points
Wine Advocate 93 points - Marjoram, mint, muskmelon, caramelized parsnip, smoked meat stock and roasted celery root in the nose of Hugel’s 2010 Gewurztraminer Jubilee are all dynamically juxtaposed on an expansive but remarkably lively palate with an almost shimmering sense of black pepper and crushed stone impingement. A juicy, mouthwateringly saline, invigoratingly herb- and pepper-finish really gives you palate and imagination a workout. This should prove superbly versatile through at least 2025.
Good pale, bright yellow. Highly expressive aromas of canned peach, candied mango, cinnamon, nutmeg, lichee and cured meats. Round, ripe and pure, with deep, pliant fruit and spice flavors offering plenty of varietal character. This very refined gewurztraminer is lifted on the long finish by fresh balancing acidity.
