Tasting NotesWine Spectator: 89 Points
Ripe and muscular, with firm tannins supporting cherry, pomegranate and spice flavors. The tannins are assertive, yet this is balanced overall, with a lingering aftertaste of tobacco and spice. Best from 2016 through 2028. 26,666 cases made.

The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and savory wine that reveals pretty tones of fruit and licorice that find integration on the nose and mouth. As is customary at this estate, the Brunello rests in wood for two years. The density and persistency however do not match what this estate has been capable of in past years. A few more years of bottle age should aid in its overall evolution. Drink: 2016-2022.
Stefano Cinelli Colombini remains the steward at the helm of one of Montalcino’s most historic estates. His ship has sailed a steady course for many years now.
