The most backward of the trio is the 2002 Syrah Purisima Mountain Vineyard. Pure cassis and acacia flower notes flow from this dense blue/purple-colored offering. Firmly structured, backward, and less showy and sexy than its two siblings, it is impeccably crafted, pure, rich, and multilayered with firm tannin as well as a structured, full-bodied mouthfeel. It is built for aging. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016.
